Moniqa & Magic Unicorn

CHAPTER 3

MARS, THE PLANET OF WAR

Moniqa barely had time to grab Magic's thick main and hang on for dear life before he sprained through the wall.

"Magic! How did we get through the wall? And, how can you fly? You don't have wings."

"Ah-h, more questions. The answer to both is basically the same. The molecules of the physical Realm are more densely collected than molecules of the mental Realm, sometimes referred to as Dreamland or the Astral Planes. So our molecules, which are spaced much further apart and are occulting at a much faster rate, can slip right between the molecules of the Physical Realm

Everything that happens in this Realm is controlled and created by the mind. Physical laws do not apply here - except as you Wish them to. Since we are all immediate co-creators in this Realm, whoever is more aware of their Power gets what they Wish for. I'll explain as we go so that you can understand, and be more consciously aware of the Power of Imagination; which, by the way, is the moving force of all creation. Now, where did you want to go?"

Moniqa looked over her shoulder to see her home only a dot in the city. They rose higher, through the clouds, then -ploop- out into space. Moniqa was still gazing back, awe-struck at Earth growing smaller and smaller.

Magic landed. Startled, Moniqa looked around. Magic was standing on a peak in a rather grey and rugged terrain. Looking into the sky Moniqa suddenly realized that they were on the moon!

Magic turned his head to look at her. "Rather spectacular view, isn't it? I like to come here often. Earth is one of the most beautiful planets in the whole Universe...."

"Wait a minute, Magic. You call me your creator, yet, you've intimated before and again, that you'v been around for eons. Please explain."

Magic tossed his head in the air and chuckled, a deep rumble in his chest, which sounded very much like a cat's purr to Moniqa. It was rather an odd sound sound coming from a Unicorn!

"Both are true. I have been around for eons, But you have just given me life in your world.

"Now, as I was saying, the very best place to gaze at a planet is from its moon."

"Yes, it is."

"Have you decited where you'd like to go from here?"

"How about Marz?"

Magic snorted and stomped his hind foot. Then it felt as if he bucked. Moniqa clutched the thick main and clamped her legs tightly around Magic's barrel chest, expecting Magic to leap up and fly there. Instead, the surroundings shimmered. The color of the landscape shifted from grey to rust. But, nothing else changed. The terrain was still rugged and pock-marked.

"Not much different than the moon, except in color." Magic commented, looking around casually.

Moniqa looked around in amazement. "Are we here, already?"

"Of course. I explained that I am a window in Time, Space, and Relms.
"But, we didn't even move or fly like we did before." Moniqa protested, trying to understand what had happened, and how.

"True. That is another asset of the mental relm, you can think yourself there."
"Some people believe that there was once life on Marz," mused Moniqa, gazing at the landscape around her. "Looking at this place, that concept is hard to believe."

"Oh, but, it is true. There was and still is live on Marz." Magic chuckled his rumbling thunder chuckle of his. "Allow me to change your perspective." The landscape shimmered again. Now there was more yellow in the rust. The terraine looked flatter, and Moniqa realized that all the craters were filled with water, lakes and rivers ran everywhere. The sky was golden, and so the rivers and lakes were shimmering reflections. The grass and trees were rust colored, as were all the buildings. The thin atmosphere allowed Moniqa to see a thousand miles in every direction from the mountain where Magic stood.
"Amazing! Magic, tell me how this can be."

"Once long ago, when the solar system was young, there was life on Marz; in the same perspecitve that you know life on Earth. Your ledgends of Marz being the warior influence of the solar system is very accurate. There were four tribes of wariors on Marz. They fought until the whole planet was at war for centuries, eventually exterminating two species of people. Of the two remaining once great armies, only a few maurading raiders were left. Chaos reigned everywhere.

"Finally, one magnicient scientist had the dream of peace for his world. He created neuclear devices and had them strategicly placed around the planet. Then with a push of a single button, he could eleminate the rivals forever.
"But the enemy found out what the scientist and his armies were planning and they created atomic devices of their own; intending to elimate the scientist and his people first. But as fate would have it, all devices were triggered at the same time, in attack and counter attack.

"A chain reaction happened, beyond just the bombs, but because of the bombs, causing all atoms to flux. Some atoms exploded, some imploded. The end result left Marz devastated, even worse than you see it today, for the little red plannet has had seven billion years to heal itself.

"Anyway, it all happened so suddenly, that it took centuries for the people of Marz to figure out that they were in a different relm and a less dence form. They have continued to fight, but, no one dies here until thier lessons are learned, and they are ready to move on to a more peaceful existance. Then, they only have to think themselves there."
Moniqa looked at the golden fields around them and the rust colored trees and tall buildings beyond. It looked so peaceful, it was hard to believe that this was a place at constant war.

"It's sad to think that people could live constantly at war. It must be awful for them."

"On the contreary. They like it here or they wouldn't be here. It's a challenge of witts of how to oursmart the enemy, for wepons are useless now. They have discovered that their whole world is created in their mind. So, you see, it's a battle of witts and controll of power; mental power and mental projection. Who ever is the most cunning and controlls the most powerful mental projections wins, but, on the other hand, no one really looses either. Hatred and prejudjice still rule this planet."

"What's that coming down the road?" Moniqa asked, pointing.

"Uh-oh, trouble. I think they've spotted us."

"You mean they can see us?" squeeked Moniqa in fear.

"Of course, we're in their Relm, the Mental Relm. Don't get off my back and you'll be safe. I'll just project a Rainbow-Bubble all around us and nothing can touch us. I'll wait until they come closer to leave, so you can see what they look like."

Just then the Martians lobed a fireball at them which burst into a thousand vipers which fell around the Rainbow-Bubble. Moniqa screamed in terror, but they were perfecltly protected from the vipers. The vipers hissed and writhed, hissed and sizzled, and turned to smoke.

The gang of Martians rushed toward them, shrieking. Another fireball exploded over their heads and a chartuce vapor settled around Magic's Rainbow Bubble.

"Don't worry," he said to Moniqa, "Their illusions can never harm us. Never the less, we won't be here long. I just wanted to let you see real Martians up close."

The advancing gang was close enough to see the individuals clearly. Moniqa caught her breath.

Suddenly, the Martins were upon them, pounding on Magic's Rainbow-Bubble. Moniqa screamed again. "What are they?"

Tossing his head and snorting, Magic said, "Martins, of course."

"But, they're bugs!" Moniqa cried, horrified.

Magic's rumbeling laughter errupted from his chest again. "They're not bugs. They are insects, ants to be specific."

"But they have eight legs. Ants only have six legs." Moniqa's voice squeeked in fear. Her breath came in short, quick intakes.

"Correction. They have four legs and four arms. Specifficly arms and legs, because they walk upright. Ants, because they are intelligent team workers and wariors. With only a few modifications you will find Earth's ants to be simular to Martians in many ways. In a way the whole insect Kingdom is a take-off of many species throughout the Universe.

"Besides, Marz's chemical make up is such that it could only support insectoid life forms. Insects can live in harsher planitary conditions, and with many less minerals that the more frail and complex humanoids need for biological functions.

"Are you ready to go?" Magic turned his head to look at Moniqa with those beautiful and expressive eyes of his.

"Yes. Yes. Get me out of here. Take me back to the moon! Fast! Please!" Moniqa was at a near panic watching the Martian Ants claw and bite at Magic's protective Rainbow-Bubble. One Ant in particular seemed to suceed in biting through the Bubble with her huge mandibles. But before she could get her head through the hole would heal shut again. Their eyes and bodies glissened with a rainbow shein of their own. Moniqa might have thought that they were beautiful if she hadn't been so frightened of them.

"Well, hang on, Moniqa, we've interfered enough here."

The landscape shimmered, as if water were being poured down a window, they were back on the moon.

Moniqa slid off his back and flopped in the dust, causing a cloud to rise up around her. As the dust motes settled around and over her, she sat up puzzled.

"I thought you said physical laws don't apply in Dreamland form?"

"They don't. Except as you wish them to. But in your case at the moment, you were so frightened, that your molucular ossolation rate slowed to nearly physical vibrations and frequency. Causing you to have a physical like effect on a physical object. On the other hand, you must realize that everything you percieve in the Physical Relm exists in every other Relm also. It may appear the same or differnt in other Relms, depending on how closely related another Relm is to your own.

Moniqa took a deep breath, relaxing a fraction. "Jeez, Martians really are green, after all, or rather I should say, gray-green.

"Say, do you have a Philpsophy of non-interference, too?"

"Most certainly not! We were merely uninvited guest and I did not wish to wear out our welcome. And what did you meant by the also?"

"Oh, like the Prime-Directive of non-interference on the TV shows, Star-Trek.

"Indeed! There is no species, or life form, no matter how noble, who does not interfere with all other life forms it comes into contact with. It is all a part of the growing process. Non-interference is only Wishful Thinking on the part of humans.

"As for space travel, the Council of Souls has decreed that violent species, such as Marthians and Earthilings, will not be allowed Space Travel until such time that they are Peaceable Beings, like the Beings who have traveled to your planet mostly observe and assist your species to evolve.

"There are a couple of rascles species, though, who concider Humans inferrior because most of you have forgotten how to communicate telepathically. They call your verbal speech roaring. They concider Humans to be sub-inteligent beings, and only fit for scientific studies.

"If ever you were to encounter them, all you would have to do is call on the Name of Light and Love, God, or whatever name you prefer, and ask that you be protected from these beings by Angels. The Angels would immediately be with you, protecting you from harm. Because these Beings inhabit the borders of the Physical Relm and the Mental Relm, they can see the Angels; just as you could see me and the Martins. Then, you tell the alien scientist, telepathically, that they have no right to perform their experiements on you, to put you right back and leave you alone, forever, in the Name of Love and Light. They are bound by Soul Agreements to do as you order in the Name of Love and Light.
"Techknowledgy is one of the many gifts, from your Space Brothers, but it must be done slowly and carefully. Contact is mostly done on a individual level."
"Are you saying that UFO's are real?"

"Absolutely! Only they are quite indentifiable."
"How?"
"Well, I will take you there in your Dreams tomorrow. But, it is time to get you back to your body for now. It will soon be time for you to get up and go to school again."
"Oh, do I have to? If you are a Master of Time, then how come we can't stay out here forever, and then you could just get me back in time to wake up?"

"I could. But, you also need time to have time to digest and intigrate your experiences into your body. Otherwise there is no reason to have a body. By the way, was that tone you used concidered 'whining'?"

"Uh, ya, I guess so...." Moniqa said, rather chagrinned.

Magic rumbled in laughter. "Climb up and I'll take you home."

Moniqa stood, dusted herself off, and swung her leg over Magic's back. Magic leaped into the sky and flew toward Earth. When Moniqa thought about the rate at which the blue planet grew closer, she realized that they were traveling at close to the speed of light. When she asked the Unicorn about it, he replied, "Not quite. Actually, in physical terms, we are only traveling at about half the speed of light."

Then they entered the Earth's atmosphere with that distinctive little

--ploop-- and a slight tug. The ground rushed toward them so quickly that Moniqa felt slightly sick. Magic landed lightly and stepped through her bedroom wall. She slid from his back and hung from his neck.

"Moniqa, you are shaking!"

She took a deep breath, "Ya, what a rush! That was a pretty fast decent. I thought we were going to crash! But, instead you landed without even a bump. Amazing!"

Moniqa looked over her sholder at her body laying on the bed. "How do I get back in?"
Magic chuckled. "The same way you always do. Either sit down and lay back, or if your body lays on its side, then lay back to back and roll over into it."

"Thanks." Moniqa walked around the bed, sat down on her body. Sitting facing her T-shirt, hanging on the book case, Moniqa noticed that Magic was missing from the painting. Only the dark starstudded sky was painted on her T-shirt. She smiled and swung her feet up to her body. As she lay back, assimilation into her body began at her feet, moving quickly up to her head. Her body felt cold and heavy. Then, immediatly, she was used to it again, and the heaviness was a comfort. She took a deep breath, opened her eyes to look at the T-shirt. The Unicorn was back in her painting. Magic winked at her. Moniqa smiled and went back to sleep.
